At a pleasant 35 degrees, we took the metro to the "Al Raffa" district in the morning. That was very exciting, because in Dubai, the metro trains operate without a driver. From "Al Raffa", we crossed the Dubai Creek with an abra - a small boat - to Deira. Upon arrival in Deira, we went to the Spice Souk. As soon as we arrived at the first shop, we were immediately captivated. We had to try everything, smell or taste every spice, every can, every bottle. We were able to practice bargaining.
We then strolled through the Gold Souk and later took the metro to Downtown Dubai. Upon arrival, we were able to admire the enormous size of the Dubai Mall and leisurely walk along the next souk. Finally, we visited the "Dubai Fountain". These fountains are reminiscent of the water fountains in front of the Bellagio Casino in Las Vegas.
Back at our hotel, we jumped into the pool on the 18th floor.
Since the Burj Khalifa was already full today ... 🤣🤣🤣 ... we decided to visit the tallest tower in the world tomorrow morning.
