Day 2,
May 16, 2021
On time for the opening at 10:00 am, we are already standing in front of the gates and waiting for admission. The gates open as expected and we enter the park with joy, but the joy is immediately dampened: One can only enter the houses if you can present a negative corona test.
We cannot do this. Too bad, because we were particularly looking forward to visiting the Hummingbird House. Anyway, we will come back another time.
The bird park has a lot to offer and the admission fee is worth every cent. We especially like the spacious garden landscapes and the flight show, which is very entertaining and informative despite restrictions. You can also find special birds here that are extremely endangered (about 250 specimens in the wild). Particularly impressive is the Andean Condor with its 3-meter wingspan.
We can enter one house and are promptly rewarded. Right at the entrance, there is a display case with several butterfly pupae hanging and just hatching. When observing the surroundings more closely, we also discover numerous specimens fluttering around and perching on the walls.
With so many different species and attractions, our capacity for taking in new experiences is exhausted after 7.5 hours, and we return home in a good mood.
Home sweet home
And so the second day ends again with an episode of 'The Walking Dead'.
