Today is our last full day in Hiroshima. I have a slight muscle ache in my left calf and climbing stairs really hurts. We're going to spend today doing a bit of shopping.

Hon-dori street

No more sightseeing, no more traveling anywhere, just letting ourselves drift in the heat and switching from one air-conditioned store to another.

With a Chai Latte Ice and a cold brew Ice Coffee for Schahaatz, we decide to treat ourselves to a massage as a nice finale – a lovely Shiatsu massage. After some research, we find a place. There are appointments available online for today as well, so we head to ATEASE BODY CARE SALON, just 4 minutes away, and simply ask if we can get in right away.

Yeah, Schahaatz takes an 80-minute massage + 20 minutes of foot reflexology while I take a 60-minute massage (upper body – with this time, one must choose between upper body or legs including glutes and hips) + 20 minutes for head and 20 minutes for foot reflexology. Ooooh, it was so nice, even though it hurt a bit at times. The petite Japanese woman really worked the muscles hard. Such incredible finger strength. I found it remarkable that during the foot reflexology, I twitched violently at one spot (right foot under the ankle). After that, she focused on my hips, and with the right one, it cracked quite loudly when she adjusted it.

The massage could have gone on longer, but unfortunately, the best things must come to an end. After paying, we were swiftly guided to the elevator. There wasn't much time to relax afterwards.

So, back out into the heat and off to the next department store. Don Quijote, a recommendation from the two Japanese people at the rooftop. Here you can really find everything, from clothing and figures (which everyone here is crazy about), to household appliances, a whole floor dedicated to cosmetics, food, and even anti-fungal foot tincture. We also find some things here.

With our bags full, we head back to the hotel.

Despite the massage, my feet are burning again.

One more dinner. One more Wagyu beef. We're headed to Charcoal Yakiniku Buchi Namiki.

Cool place.

Schahaatz in his element

Cool experience.

Grilling at the table over charcoal was also nice and warm.

Delicious meat and vegetables. 😋

For a farewell drink, we head to the rooftop again, then it’s time to pack our bags. That was 17 days in Japan 🇯🇵.
