Second day at the Gorah, getting up at 5.45 am to grab an early coffee and then head out directly in search for the lions 🦁
We got to see already lots of other wild- and beautiful bird life before following some of the lion’s tracks. We got really lucky and met a lion couple close to the park’s edge and were able to watch them for some good 15-20 minutes. After that wonderful encounter, we stopped for a nice coffee break overlooking one of the vast green gorges that the park has to offer. Moving on, we were eventually again lucky enough meeting 2 other female lion, mom and her daughter, when they crossed over an open downhill site. They both sat down side by side to drink at the waterhole beside our riding path. Just unbelievably beautiful big cats to watch for another 20 minutes and then see them wander off to lie down in the grass in the shade of a bush, such amazing animals 🦁🫶
It was then already time to head back to the lodge for a good breakfast, followed by packing up for the road again. Leaving Gorah camp, we headed via Port Elizabeth direction Tsitsikamma for more walks and hikes in the bush 🌳🌴🌵
Tsitsikamma is Khoi for “clear, sparkling water”.
