17.03. Surfing Waves

Weekend, Saturday and dream weather (29 degrees, sunny with a few clouds and a nice breeze) and we have a day off. Our travel plan today includes a day of rest. Breakfast coffee with a sea view and the sound of waves - a privilege that you don't always have. Afterwards, an extensive beach walk with a swim in the ocean (not for me, I'm too scared as everything here is either extremely dangerous or poisonous: sharks, venomous jellyfish that nothing helps against, undertows, snakes, cone snails, etc.). For the rest of the morning, we watched the surfers from the terrace doing their stunts. The big waves and the surf are simply incredible. At noon, a little walk through Port Fairy and over the offshore island 'Griffith Island'. And for the rest of the day, we'll just enjoy a bottle of sparkling Shiraz...
