After the weather on the Mediterranean became worse (rain and wind), we decided to take a day trip on Sunday. Why not get away from mass tourism, i.e. away from the coast?
So we turned west at the height of Valencia and ended up at a small campsite in Navajas. Navajas is a small town located at an altitude of about 450m amidst green hills.
Here they speak Spanish and maybe even English, and that's it. The campsite is very quiet on the outskirts of the town and has everything you need. The highlight (once again) is the 🧑🍳restaurant - simply delicious….
In Navajas there are many marked mountain bike routes, from easy to very difficult. Directly at the campsite, the former railway line runs along, which has been converted into a bicycle and hiking trail. Length of the converted railway line: about 140 km!! Why doesn't something like this exist in our country?
Today we visited the waterfall "Salto de la Novia" on the other side of the village. It is about 60 m high and the whole area around the waterfall is worth seeing - and in summer it is a popular bathing spot for locals and tourists.
Tomorrow we plan to hike to a reservoir about 1 hour away. Hopefully it won't rain.
