Finally, the time has come! We're heading towards Turkey! My first stage is Bologna. I treat myself to the first cappuccino at Munich Central Station. Lots of Italian voices around me. Am I already in Italy?
No, that will take about 10 hours. So let's get started.
My first stop is in Bologna. My travel equipment for the next hours:
And my route:
And very delightful: the trains are perfectly on time!! The great thing about traveling by train is that you always find someone to chat with! This time it's an Allgäu woman who has been living in Italy for several decades, in the Abruzzo region. She is currently traveling from her family in Germany back home. Nice trip across the Alps: Kiefersfelden, Innsbruck, Brenner, South Tyrol, Trentino, Veneto, and finally Emilia Romagna and Bologna!
In Bologna, I found a really great accommodation, and a surprisingly lively city! With lots of pubs, lots of students, and lots of culture!
