From Alberobello in windy, very cold temperatures by bus through hilly, green landscape. Connecting train to Bari. Short cappuccino break (countless cappuccinos enjoyed during this vacation/ so, so delicious) then continue by train along the sea to Monopoly.
Sea&Tradition B&B a corner away from the sea. Big room, big kitchen. Former Jewish quarter. Balcony with arches in a narrow alley in the middle of the old town. Narrow streets, small squares, small cafes everywhere. Old city walls, many fishing boats, very few foreign tourists, almost only Italians. We have breakfast at Cafe Roma around the corner.
Dinner at Osteria Pericci, a small family-run business with incredibly good food. As a conclusion, homemade limoncello was served.
Today cycled along the coast by bike in the sun.
Watched the fishermen sell their catch and strolled through the narrow streets. Monopoly lives even without tourists. The great houses, the squares, the warmth and the life on the street are just great. Immersed in Italian life, sitting on squares, letting ourselves drift, watching the families.
