The sea, oh my!
We're both not quite happy with the choice of location (maybe we're just too spoiled ;-) . Arrived in Amed (after 3 1/2 hours for 47 km), which is being sold as a romantic fishing village, we first see one thing, trash. We must not forget that Indonesia, and thus Bali, is still a developing/emerging country with a lot of poverty in many areas.
But the landscape is incredible, we're in the jungle (see the view from our homestay).
Today we want to rent a scooter again and explore the area, maybe we just ended up on the wrong end of the bay!?
Yesterday evening we had the local alcohol for the first time, called Arak... Brrrrr!! That's schnapps, Iris says it's similar to Grappa, Tine feels more reminded of the smell of fuel.
The beach is dark and rocky, because we're now on the other side of Mount Agung and the beach consists of cooled lava (but it's probably a few million years ago).
We're going to roam around, more later, before we head off to the postcard islands!
