After a long sleep and a good breakfast at Choi Oi, we invested much more time today for a supposed 1-hour hike in the Red Sand Canyon, as it quickly became clear to us from the beginning that this landscape is the most impressive so far. We walked comfortably along some sand dunes of different colors, sandstone rocks, and dense forest, primarily through the mostly flat streambed with a sandy base. There are also occasional cafes with seating in the water. The local children like to throw sand rocks at each other here, which we found quite amusing. We turned back at the waterfall near the source and walked back through the dunes. We liked it so much that we will make a short stop there again tomorrow.
