Day 11: On the Lofoten Islands

Published: 12.07.2017

According to the daily schedule, wake-up call was at 8 o'clock. But our guide in the other bunk bed failed. Because Patricia and I were the only ones who got up on time. Our first stop was the airport. But Simon's luggage still hadn't arrived. So shopping was on the agenda. After buying new clothes, the store probably already reached its daily sales. Afterwards, we treated ourselves to a coffee and something to eat before we set off on the daily stage of 220 kilometers. Despite the not so nice weather, it was fascinating to see how the landscape constantly changed. The Lofoten Islands are very mountainous and you also pass through various fjords in tunnels, so suddenly we weren't sure anymore if the water in front of us is a lake or the sea again. After two stops, we reached Flakstad in the evening and found a camping spot with a sea view at the second campsite. It is quite cold and windy here tonight. But that's part of camping.
