Day 8 - Mosque, Dates and Old Abu Dhabi โ˜บ

Published: 12.06.2017

We have chosen some highlights in Abu Dhabi for today's city tour.

An absolute must-see is the Sheikh Zayid Mosque ๐Ÿ•Œ an incredible building and the 3rd largest mosque in the world (1st and 2nd are in Mecca and Medina)! Some remarkable numbers and facts: 38 engineers, 11 years of construction, 30 different types of marble, 82 domes, 5,000 - 20,000 visitors every day... and fittingly: the 5,700 sqm handmade carpet is disinfected daily ๐Ÿ˜ท it was knotted by 1,200 women in Iran in 9 parts from wool and cotton with 2,268,000 knots.

The mosque is closed for Friday prayers...

A lot of emphasis is placed on tradition and respect for faith and culture here. Among other things, that's why Michaela became Aishe ๐Ÿ‘˜โ˜บ๐Ÿ˜‚ the wardrobe is unusual and hot, but after some time, it's very comfortable....๐Ÿ˜‰

Afterwards, we continued to the date market - here, due to the heat, we were treated with delicious dates with nuts and chocolate on the bus. ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹ very tasty! If you wanted, you could buy dates in abundance at the market...

Last destination on our tour: Heritage Village - a traditional oasis village was recreated here and you can be transported back in time. In addition, the location offers a fantastic beach with a view ๐Ÿ˜™๐Ÿ˜™๐Ÿ˜™

After 'Boarding Completed', we returned to the hotel all sweaty - absolutely worth seeing places here in Abu Dhabi! ๐Ÿ•Œ๐Ÿ•Œ๐Ÿ•Œ
