10:30 a.m. At Café Potager, I have a 'Petit pois' - a small pea. This menu includes a drink (for me an Iced Matcha Latte) as well as a baguette with butter and jam.

I'm sitting here writing and doing a bit of drawing in my planner. Then I follow the tram to the Ill. I stroll along the water until I reach the Palais Rohan.

I part ways with the river and walk into the Krutenau district. It is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Strasbourg. It used to be all swampy land, which was gradually drained. The statue of the girl with the dragonfly is said to remind us of this. In her company, I sit in the Zürcher Platz and continue to paint a bit.

1:30 p.m. My hunger has led me to a ramen shop. It takes a while because the restaurant is quite busy, and one cook and one waiter are managing everything between the two of them. But the wait is worth it! I've ordered Tzukemen Miso. The cold noodles are dipped into a hot broth served separately. It's sooo delicious 😍

Re-energized, I head back toward the river, or better said toward the canal - because south of Krutenau presents a contrast!
The Malraux Peninsula is a popular district with a music college, shopping centers, a library, and more. All very modern buildings, reminding me of Hafen City in Hamburg.

4:15 p.m. I have been sitting by the water sketching for over an hour. However, the sky is getting gloomier, and as the first drops fall, I quickly pack up and escape to the mall next door. Now I definitely know where the youth of Strasbourg hangs out!
After the shower, I decide to end my sightseeing for the day and make my way home - with a little detour to Monogram, a stationery store, to the organic market, to the bakery, and to Monoprix - like TK Maxx, but there is also an integrated supermarket.
What I learned today:
1. Ordering in French doesn't help if all follow-up questions are also in French 😅
2. The mere fact that it was made in France does not automatically make a croissant 🥐 tasty. It probably also needs to be fresh.
3. A tourist can solve 50% with sign language, 30% with questioningly pronounced nouns, and the rest with English. (Result of a non-representative study)
