=> Traditional Oktoberfest in the festival tent with typical Bavarian food and drinks; Music by the original Oktoberfest band 'Die Kirchdorfer'.

Today was our last night in Abu Dhabi; after lunch, we will head back towards Dubai.

After packing our bags mostly, we play with the boys,

Back at the house, we say goodbye to the boys - who are staying with the nanny in Abu Dhabi - and my cousin and her husband, and we head to Dubai. The thermometer shows an unbelievable 39 degrees!!!

Since we still have a voucher left from our pass, as yesterday's visit to Sea World didn't work out, we decided to make a stop at the Dubai Frame. Even though the entrance fee is only around €15, we used our pass for free entry.

We park right at the Frame and rush quickly ahead of the next tour bus to the ticket counter. It goes smoothly - at least something.

I was here a few years ago already. The view is really nice; it's worth it.

Next, we go to Wafi Mall - the mall with the pyramid. My cousin has a few errands to run, so we sit at Starbucks and treat ourselves to a coffee and then visit the delicatessen.

In the late afternoon, we drive to the hotel.

We check into our hotel room at the Al Khoory Sky Garden Hotel Dubai. The hotel is close to the airport and also near the Park Hyatt, where we will soon visit the Oktoberfest. The price was great, and we even have breakfast included for tomorrow.

After putting on our Oktoberfest outfits (I brought my dirndl especially), we take a taxi to the Park Hyatt Hotel. In the lobby, we receive some 'strange' looks, but once we find the festival tent in the outdoor area, we are all dressed 'smart in our outfits' like everyone else. To my relief, the festival tent is air-conditioned! Unfortunately, it’s still so incredibly hot that going outside to get something delicious to eat becomes a challenge.

For the Oktoberfest, you need a ticket. This includes the buffet & soft drinks. Alcoholic beverages come 'on top'. For the ticket, we paid about €90 this year. Not a bargain, but hey - Oktoberfest is only known to happen once a year!

In the outdoor area, there are various grills with chicken, roasts, etc., as well as diverse salads, pasta dishes, appetizers, and desserts; cheese and pretzels are a must.

The tent is packed. We have reserved a table (table-bench combo) and are a larger group since we are meeting many colleagues and friends of my cousin here. The atmosphere is super and lively. I’m not drinking much today as I have to drive again tomorrow.... Here in Dubai there is no tolerance regarding alcohol behind the wheel.

After a glass of wine and a whiskey cola, that's it for today (I don’t like beer), but it doesn’t ruin the mood.

We celebrate until 1 AM, then we take a taxi back to the hotel. A nice end to our girls' trip in Dubai/Abu Dhabi!
