Day 5 - (2024) Yas Waterworld in Abu Dhabi

It remains very hot with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees, so today we are escaping to the next water park - but this time 'just around the corner' - to Yas Waterworld.

Also an old acquaintance - I have been here every time since my first holiday in Abu Dhabi 10 years ago.

As in previous years, it’s so quiet today that we have to wait longer at the large tube slides Falcon & Dawwama (the Twister) because there are simply no other riders in sight (you need a minimum weight to be able to slide).

The park is being significantly expanded, with many construction sites, barriers, and construction towers visible behind the tube slides. This is going to be exciting. Let's see if the new slide towers are finished by next fall when I’m back here.

Due to the construction sites, we can no longer walk around the entire park. Since we don't feel like taking the detours, we simply hop into the Lazy River, let ourselves drift around the slides, and exit on the other side.

Most of the time, we actually spend in the Lazy River, Rafting River (although the wave here - like in Atlantis Waterpark - is so toned down that we hardly make any progress, so I could rather call it 2 Lazy Rivers) and in the Wave Pool.

We leave the park after sunset and are pretty much the last ones... our rental car stands all alone in the parking lot.

Before heading back to the house, we make a quick stop at Yas Mall, specifically at the Carrefour supermarket.
