Bye Bye Abu Dhabi

The first year in Abu Dhabi with a big change: I’m flying alone - at least without my family - to the UAE.
The youth had already submitted other plans for the autumn break in advance, and my husband had no vacation left (there must be some advantage to being a teacher 😅
Last Christmas, when my cousin with her family was visiting from Abu Dhabi in Germany, she just said: 'Come alone!'
Hmm, all by myself....!?
My sister-in-law shows interest - after all, she has never traveled outside of Europe. This would be something completely new and exciting for her!
We develop the idea over the next 2 months, and then it’s decided: we are going on a girls' trip to Abu Dhabi!
In February, I start looking for flights to Abu Dhabi....
Complete disillusionment! Etihad seems to suffer from delusions of grandeur since Corona: €1,250 PER PERSON???? No way!!!!
Since we have also flown to Dubai in the past because the flight was significantly cheaper, I expand my search to Dubai and find options. Still expensive, but €350 cheaper than Abu Dhabi! Works out! With the savings, we can also afford a rental car and at least one entry to an amusement park.
The thought of having to drive in Dubai makes me nauseous.... but okay, let’s push that thought aside for now.
By the end of February, we have booked flights, a rental car (a Nissan Elantra or similar at Europcar), a Go City Pass, an Airalo e-Sim, and a hotel stay in Dubai. Let’s go!
Our Emirates flight is on time - night flight - off to Dubai!
