Odyssey
Due to my knee injury, we can't continue cycling and decide to take the train from Kuala Lumpur to Penang.
The first shock is that the train at 9:00 a.m. and the subsequent ones are fully booked and we could only get a ticket at 9:30 p.m.
But when the lady sees our bikes, all of that goes away because bicycles are prohibited on trains.
Great
So, plan B - bus.
After an hour of waiting for the train, we arrive at the bus station and even get a ticket at 11:00 a.m. and after convincing them, the bikes are okay too.
(we ride 340 km for 15 Euros for both!)
At the bus station in Penang, finding a taxi proves to be extremely difficult.
The bike simply doesn't fit in these small taxis and the only larger one doesn't want to take us to the other side of the island.
So, we decide to take the bus.
After another hour of waiting for the bus, it tells us that it doesn't allow bikes.
GREAT
So, back to the taxi stand.
After a long back and forth, we finally get a large car where everything fits.
A fixed price of 80 Ringgit was agreed upon (which is way too expensive!) but the meter is still running and we are now stuck in traffic for the second time....
We'll see...
I don't need to mention that Patrick's mood is fantastic...
