Lower Saxony, Baltic Sea, Müritz, Spreewald and Franken 2023

- We left Heidenheim an der Brenz on Friday, April 14, 2023. We stayed at the campsite 'am Sultmer Berg' in Northeim.
- Then we continued to the Steinhuder Meer. The wind blew in our faces and there was a fresh breeze.
- Then we went to Wolfsburg and stayed at the campsite at the Allersee for 1 week.
- On the 21st, we went to Stralsund and stayed at the caravan park near the Rügenbrücke. The weather was very changeable and after 3 days we decided to go to Rügen.
- We immediately felt comfortable at the 'Oase' campsite in Prora/Binz for 4 days. We rented a car and drove 138 km around the island and visited Kap Arkona, Cafe am Meer in Putgarten, Vitt, Glowe Hafen and Räucherei, Sassnitz Hafen and Sellin at the Seebrücke.
- On May 1st, we go to Hohenkirchen to the campsite 'Liebeslaube' for 14 days. It is located between Wismar and Boltenhagen. We have a beautiful 120 square meter plot. It's beautiful in the countryside and only a few meters from the Baltic Sea beach. We took the bus to Wismar, to the old harbor. The MS Deutschland was standing in the harbor, also known as the 'Dream Ship'. It was very impressive to see the 178 meter long ship standing there so majestically. Wismar is very pretty, you walk into the old town through the water gate. There is a lot to explore. We rode our bikes to the white Wiek to the harbor and then to Boltenhagen. A dreamy little village right on the Baltic Sea. On the way back we stopped at the smokehouse and snack bar at the pier for a cherry beer from the barrel and a smoked eel sandwich. Then we had the best soft ice cream at 'Island 15/6'. The weather is perfect, very sunny and 18-20 degrees.
- On Monday, May 15th, we go to Kühlungsborn to the camping park for 7 days. The camping park 'Kühlungsborn' was great. There was a great dog beach. The spa area with sauna, fitness and massages was very nice. There is a Norma right next door where you can get everything you need for your daily needs. There are 2 nice restaurants on site. The town of Kühlungsborn is worth seeing and can be reached in a few minutes on foot or by bike.
- Now we went to the Müritz, the place was called Waren and we stayed at the campsite 'Kamerun'. There are beautiful cycle paths along the Müritz. The town of Waren is very idyllic. You can eat fish on every corner and of course other things as well. The campsite is clean but a bit expensive. What we don't understand is why you have to pay for washing dishes. We met a very nice couple there and laughed a lot and stayed in touch.
- Off to the Spreewald to Lübbenau. Caravan parking lot. Very nice location, cheap and very clean. Spreewald pickles are for sale everywhere and if you want, you can take the infamous boat trips on the Müritz.
- Last stage hotel and campsite Schloss Issigau. It is located near Bad Steben. Great gastronomy and a very idyllic campsite in the countryside.
- Last day in Issigau. We explored the area with friends, went to the Frankenwaldsee and ate traditional food. Now we're packing up the motorhome and on June 4th we're heading back to Heidenheim. It was a beautiful time.
