Day 16 France 2023 - 2,517 km “Salin de Giraud” -> “La Maison du Lavandin”

We set off from the campsite. The destination was the beach at the southern tip of “Plage Napoléon”. Unfortunately the weather was an absolute disaster with fog, wind and freezing cold. That's why we decided to continue towards Marseille. Past the flamingos towards the ferry. The crossing over the river was exciting for the whole 150 meters!

We drove through Marseille - a beautiful city! Not far from Marseille, Lea uncovered a beautiful restaurant. The food there was a dream, a fish platter from another planet. Oysters, snails, shrimp, mussels and a crab! Splendid! With a full stomach we head towards “Lac de Saint-Croix” which borders the “Verdon Gorge”. We stood beautifully next to a lavender farmer on a hill. In the late afternoon we took the red cannon to the lake again to swim.

We ended the evening with spaghetti aglio e olio and beer.
