Day 80 - 11/28/23

Nice surprise at the airport in Frankfurt - Max, Frieda and Charlotte welcomed us at the airport early in the morning at 7.45 a.m.

CONCLUSION:

After around 80 days and around 5,200 kilometers driven, our wonderful, very impressive trip to Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and Australia again ends.

Singapore is an absolute metropolis, very modern in terms of public transport and digitalization. The city offers a lot for people hungry for adventure, but the climate is a real challenge - even for the locals. A lot of things happen underground in the city's “tunnel system” or in the malls because the air conditioning systems there are humming at full speed.

New Zealand is definitely one of our TOP 5 countries and we have already seen a few countries. Karin’s ranking is a little different than mine. While Karin sees New Zealand as No. 1, for me it is and remains Germany.

For me, Germany remains the most beautiful country in the world with this variety of landscapes in a relatively small area.

Australia is characterized by a striking relaxation and hospitality. From a climatic point of view, however, it can also be classified in the “challenging” category, this particularly applies to the high UV index and the humidity.

In the Aldi brochure in Sydney we noticed that swimwear was advertised not with as little material as possible, but with more material - especially long sleeves - a circumstance that is due to the sun, which is harmful to the skin.

If we were to emigrate, New Zealand would be our preferred destination ahead of Australia. This time we didn't immerse ourselves as deeply in society as we would have liked to in other countries - this is also due to the fact that the "Kiwis" almost hug you and infect you with their good mood. You don't want to avoid political issues - even if we were here during the New Zealand election campaign and the socio-political issues are similar to ours. Nevertheless, this “easy going” is noticeable everywhere and it seems really pleasant to us.

All in all, New Zealand offers so much in terms of scenery and together with this open-mindedness, these positive vibes from the people, it is a rest home compared to Germany.

When we travel, we like to ask ourselves whether we want to live here or whether we would like to travel here again - and this time we both answered yes to both of those questions, but this also applies to Brisbane, Australia.

A city that we really like, whose development around and after the Olympic Games remains to be seen whether it can continue to maintain this level of charm.

What we missed here was definitely German bread!!!! and

good chocolate, as well as German sausage variants.

There are plenty of gluten-free foods here, but there's hardly any vegan food and the sausage isn't really to our liking, apart from the ham.

Now we're heading back to wintery, cold, dreary Germany and we have a long time ahead of us until the sky will be predominantly blue again.

The relaxed life here Down Under makes the distance from relatives and friends sweeter and makes you want to continue your journey.

But you can also look at it with humor, because from the outside Germany is a really funny country. Funny, stupid things are done here by bizarre people. People don't listen to each other, they like to insult each other and they don't learn from their own past or from the best practices from other countries. - It's just a shame that after our return we'll be caught up in this bizarre chaos again at some point.

This trip was not only wonderful, it also gave us 80 days of very, very friendly company and beautiful landscapes. Mentally we were super far away - others go to the monastery to switch off, we travel.

What practical recommendations/hints can we give?

- eSim card from Maya.net: very reliable, outstanding service

Questions/problems and not just for Asia.

- Only use Quantas if there is no response to complaints

want to have or just accept the loss. Quantas is real

creepy.

- Whenever you rent a car : no matter what is said or not, no matter,

Which previous damages were noted: take as many photos as possible

from the vehicle and sends it to the relevant rental company.

- When entering Australia and New Zealand: be sure to have the bio-security certificate

Study the rules in advance and don't take them lightly

take. We have seen someone being “pulled out”

because he had taken food with him and also that luggage

was examined accordingly. The fines can be up to 250

euros go. Both Australia and New Zealand take this seriously

very seriously.

- Would you like to live in smaller towns both in Australia and in...

New Zealand had some dinner in a restaurant after 9 p.m

eat, you either stand in front of closed doors or listen in

“kitchen is closed, sorry”.

All's well that ends well. We are back safe and sound and are already looking forward to the next trip - where? - we don't know yet - how long? - certainly not as long as this trip - when? we will see….

Until then, let's enjoy life, meet as often as possible and strive for lightness.
