The early bird catches the worm, so I got up at 7:30 a.m. and had a delicious and affordable breakfast here.
I can hike today's section of the Forest Trail with light baggage, as it is almost a circular route except for 200 m.
Tori was also happy that she doesn't have to carry any weight and she was constantly climbing up and down the rocks. It was a pleasure to watch her.
This is a pure climbing region and my path led me past a memorial plaque dedicated to the climbers who had accidents.
I continued over rocks and stones and sometimes through waist-high grass. So, I kept my eyes open and looked out for the yellow marks of the Forest Trail. That wasn't always easy.
I passed a rock labyrinth and on the way to the Great Hercules, there was another rest stop that I gladly took.
According to the hiking guide, you should plan about 5 hours for the 17 km. I needed more than 10 hours with looking and marveling and I shortened the last 3 km, otherwise it would have easily taken 12 hours.
I was able to solve my currency exchange problem the day before yesterday and when you walk like this and have nothing to do, you have the best thoughts.
Now I have also solved my weight problem with the beast.
When I arrived at the campsite, I asked if they could give me a crate/box to pack my unnecessary things. And behold, it works.
On the way back home, I'll stop by here again and pick up my crate.
Now I'm curious if my beast is not so beastly anymore. That will show tomorrow.
It is a beautiful landscape with many sights, which I cannot describe here in detail.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow and the next days.
Oh, by the way: I have a new problem. The dog food is running out. I brought some for 12 days and it's almost gone after 8 days.
The ladies at the grill at my rest stop told me that there is a small Edeka supermarket in the neighboring village. I will check it out tomorrow. There is a solution for everything.
The insight of the day:
Even if it seems hopeless, there is a solution for everything.
