Today we wanted to go around the lake with E-Scooter/Bike. It looks more like a vehicle for retirees, but it was super comfortable and above all we didn't have to exert ourselves (although that didn't fall short when climbing up to the pagoda).
The name of the lake comes from its shape, which resembles the sun and moon. It is about 33 km all around, it goes uphill and downhill, sometimes on the road. We were on the road from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm including sightseeing and lunch.
The first part went along the road to Temple No. 6 Longfeng. Then on to the parking lot of the pagoda.
The path up to the pagoda was very steep and 570 m. Then climb the 6 floors of the pagoda to have a fabulous view of the lake. We only had to sweat once, namely all the time until we reached the top.
The 7th temple was not very big and located near the lake.
We had to go downhill a long way until we reached the bilingual Visitor Center. There we treated ourselves to a matcha break - matcha ice cream and smoothie.
After that, we rode comfortably along the lake and had a small meal at the ship's harbor. Since we already visited the Wenwu Temple yesterday, we were able to continue to Itaho (our overnight station). The last 5 km had to be done again with car traffic and steep downhill driving.
Conclusion - a nice day trip (but only with E-Scooter) with sightseeing and beautiful views of the lake.
