Day 17 - Galway

Wotae: 10.08.2018

Hello hello,

Today my journey continued through Ireland, namely to Galway. Since the train at 9:00 was a little too early for me, and the next one didn't leave until 11:00, I decided once again not to set an alarm, and promptly woke up at half past nine. After a hearty breakfast, I set off to the train station much too early. When I arrived there, I was very glad that I had allowed myself so much time buffer, as the crowd for my train was very large, and the chance of getting a seat would have been slim otherwise.

But like this, I made myself comfortable and spent the slightly more than 2-hour journey planning my day tomorrow and of course, as always, looking out the window.

When I arrived in the city, it wasn't far to go to my accommodation and I could check in right away. After that, I set off to explore the city center of Galway, which is very warm and inviting with its many small shops, colorful buildings, and street music on every corner.

During a visit to the sports shop, I even found a new backpack and could finally get rid of my backpack, which had been sewn and falling apart again for the second time. After that, there was only one more thing on the agenda: shopping for tomorrow and a picnic dinner at the harbor. And, of course, a round of street music in the city center to end the day.

Tomorrow, I will start early with the bus to Doolin, a small village on the coast near Galway, from where you can hike to the Cliffs of Moher. So, a long and exciting day awaits me.

Until tomorrow,

Veronika
