76. Santa Elena, Monteverde (Costa Rica)

Traveling through the country by public buses turned out to be more difficult than we expected. Schedules are hard to find, and when you do find them, they are not accurate! Somehow, we still manage to get to Monteverde...

We are staying in the beautiful little town of Santa Elena and despite the autumn temperatures, we feel very comfortable in our accommodation with Lilly.

The area is known for its diverse cloud forests, and of course, we also visit the most famous cloud forest reserve, Monteverde...

The cloud forest provides protection for animals such as the Jaguar and Ocelot, but despite our efforts, we unfortunately cannot spot them...

In addition to the many amazing plants, we at least discover a few cute White-nosed Coatis... at least!

In the end, we realize that our year of time off is almost over. The remaining 12 weeks will probably pass us by like this little Coati...
