Tet Festival in Buon Ma Thuot, path to the lonely island

Vietnam celebrated the New Year's Festival 'Tet' according to the lunar calendar on January 21 to 22. The preparations for this festival start two weeks in advance (making Tet cakes, cleaning the house, shopping for food to have enough for the holidays and to be able to focus on the family). Through Airbnb and my father, I was able to fully experience the time with two families. Especially during the days after the festival, you visit family, eat, and spend most of the time together. Fortunately, my desire to move brought me back to the mountains, where I saw some beautiful waterfalls and a lot of jungle with rice plantations 😍 unfortunately, there was also a zoo where various tigers were kept under not so great conditions. 

Through Saigon and Kep (Cambodia) I have now landed on an island again. This time for 8 nights, where I want to switch off and take a break. So we'll talk again from February 3rd!
