Park for Night - the must-have app for campers unfortunately brings us the first disappointment. After a promising description of a parking space where caravans are also allowed, we head there. Arriving in the middle of an industrial area in a suburb of Madrid, we are faced with warehouses everywhere. We can't even find the access to the parking space on foot. We quickly decide to head for the city campsite. A little sweating on the 6-lane city highways, a few wrong turns, and we reach our destination. A beautiful city campsite with a sun terrace and a small bar in the middle of the site. Every day, we experience live music in front of our caravan door. The day after arrival, we set off for the city center. For Rocky, it becomes a little uncomfortable. Dogs are only allowed on the metro in a bag or with a muzzle. We naturally choose the backpack option. A good decision, considering that Nicole will soon find herself in the middle of a Spanish demonstration. A demonstration against the Spanish government takes place in the Plaza Mayor. A kind of small festival with a stage and musicians. The Spaniards sit in the cafes and sing along to the songs. From there, we visit the remaining famous squares and the Royal Palace. In front of the palace, Rocky and Nicole are directly instructed by the Spanish guards not to take any actions on the wall. After a few hours, we make our way back. Rocky has definitely had enough of the city center, a lot of walking, and many people. The following day, Nicole experiences the largest supermarket she has ever been to - the Hypercor! A supermarket where you can find everything. The aisles and refrigerators are meters long and seemingly endless. The entrance area to the supermarket looks like a huge department store where expensive jewelry and watches can be purchased. After shopping, a problem arises. Where to put the shopping cart? After about 15 minutes of searching and a ride in the elevator of the 4-story building, nothing is found. But Nicole knows how to help herself and takes the elevator down one floor, only to go back up and discreetly leave the shopping cart in the elevator. A little sad because the good shopping chip is now gone. But surely a new one will be found. After another night, we head to a small town next to Motril to meet with Nicole's cousin. We head to the Don Cactus campsite...
