Wave rider 🌊

Wotae: 21.06.2019

After a 10-hour bus ride, we arrived in Agnes Water late in the evening on June 20th, where we went straight to bed to be well-rested for the next day.

Today, we went surfing 🏄! Agnes Water is known for offering the cheapest surf lessons, but with good service. And that's exactly what it was like. At the Reef 2 Beach surf school, you can get a 3-hour course for $25 (€15), where you are taught the basics of surfing.

The group of 21 beginner surfers was divided into 3 coaches. Everyone received a suitable wetsuit and, of course, a surfboard. Going surfing without those would have been quite a challenge 😂.

Yes, the weather is amazing again! 25°C, clear blue skies.

At the beginning, our coach JD showed us the basics as dry exercises and then we all started.

And even as a complete beginner, I managed to do it on my second try:

Everything was explained to us well and the waves were small but perfect for taking the time needed to stand up at the beginning. Because let me tell you, finding the balance is not as easy as it looks :D.
That's why sometimes you just have to quickly jump off to avoid a collision between your face and the sand 😉.
And collisions between surfers can also happen, but you just have to make the best of it and glide together to the beach.

And the most important thing of all: Always have fun and enjoy life and the situation! ❤️

'omg, look I'm standing' 😍😂

Well, the wetsuit doesn't leave me unaffected either 😂

Now after a delicious lunch and a little rest, we're heading back to the beach to make the most of the day and the sun 😊
We'll see, maybe we'll go surfing again tomorrow 🤙🏼🤷🏼‍♀️.

*next day*
Today was very relaxed.. It has to be sometimes when you're so busy with traveling! After a long night that ended at half past 10 (which is actually atypical for me), we had breakfast (toast with peanut butter & jelly). After that, I just sat on the outdoor sofas at the hostel and enjoyed the morning.
Then, when everyone who had partied yesterday was awake and ready, we went to the beach together. We were able to watch today's surf lessons and we really had to say that ours must have looked 100% better! ☝🏼

For lunch, we sat down in one of the small beach cafes and I treated myself to a little cake 😍.

A strawberry cheesecake! Soooo delicious! 😍

Afterwards, we went back to the beach and enjoyed the last rays of sunshine to get a little more tanned.
Back at the hostel, we cooked curry for dinner and watched the talent show put on by some of the girls from the hostel :D.
Too bad you can't upload videos here... 😑 😂

Relatively late, at 9:45pm, we got back on the bus. On to the next stop!
Where to? Well 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I can tell you one thing. The city has its own beer brand, which you can also buy in Germany, and is particularly famous for the rum distillery... Got it? 😉😋

To be continued... Xo
