This morning we left Monteverde heading southwest towards the Nicoya Peninsula. The cloud forest lived up to its name. It was steaming like a cauldron in the rain.
Unfortunately, the roads in the other direction are hardly any better. So we spent another 4 hours traveling 120 km. It's hard to believe, but the roads on the peninsula are just like the ones before...
Then the shock in Sámara - what a hotel for our beach vacation! A bunker with no charm and the bedding was dirty. We were so disappointed... but an email to our Magdalena at the travel agency at least provided a clean room. She's amazing.
After a leisurely walk, our moods calmed down and after a cocktail, we decided to make the best of it. We are curious to see how the Pacific will reveal itself to us. But so far, both of us have the feeling that the Caribbean is more beautiful.
But it could also be the rainy weather, which is supposed to be over the day after tomorrow...
