Friday morning in Cape Coral: blue sky, sunshine...
We head to Sunibel Island. This island hit Ian particularly hard last year, a lot of storm damage is visible here, the natural disaster is still present...
We settle down on Bowman Beach to collect shells - it's beautiful.
Unfortunately the water of Idalia is still very turbulent and many shells are broken but we still find what we are looking for and enjoy the time. Unbelievable, the entire beach surface is made of shells, we've never seen anything like it. The kids are happy about the effects of Idalia: there are waves again on the otherwise quiet beach.
After a break from the sun and heat, we set off for a round of golf - the kids are happy: they get to go karting :-) we enjoy the time...
When we come home in the evening there are a lot of people sitting in the square in front of our house. When we get out of the car, they say to us: we are neighbors here, every Friday we sit together and drink a beer together - please come along.
We don't need to be told twice: quickly grab a beer and sit with the neighbors. We laughed a lot, suffered a lot (everyone saw Ian last year and talked about it) and had a really relaxed evening. Really cool.
We also have a restaurant recommendation with us, we'll try it out tomorrow :-)
