After a quick look at the weather app, two more interns and I decided that we should probably spend this weekend on the warm Gulf Coast.
We spent the first night of our trip in Fort Myers, about 2 and a half hours drive from Miami. After getting some rest, we drove to 'Captiva' on Saturday morning. An island about a 30-minute drive from Fort Myers.
After exploring the island a bit, we made our way to Tampa, a city of 350,000 inhabitants about 2 hours north of Fort Myers. Tampa has an incredibly beautiful university with a campus located right on a canal.
On Easter Sunday, we started the day with a nice breakfast. Unfortunately, it wasn't easy to find a restaurant at first, as Americans also enjoy eating out. After a 40-minute wait for a table at the restaurant, we truly deserved the breakfast :)
