At 10:30 a.m. I took the hotel shuttle into town. You can't imagine it as a real city 😅 Actually there's only one street where you can buy everything. My plan to spend less money on useless things is working really well 😂😂😂 I haven't found any postcards yet, so I guess I'll have to take the ones from the hotel. The tourist information office looks shabby, but has good information and offers. The gas station is so funny, “only” scooters can fill up there, but it is still in operation. We'd rather not talk about the hospital.
I let the impressions take effect in a café and then went to the Wat Klong Prao temple to polish my Buddhist halo. Unfortunately there was a ceremony today and there was no entry for guests. I'll come back again next week. Going to the supermarket was almost mandatory, I always find that very interesting in other countries. There was a whole shelf of plastic straws. If they didn't take up so much space, I would definitely buy some.
I walked back, thinking it would be a good idea. However, this humidity should not be underestimated. That was more strenuous than expected, luckily I have a pool to cool off in. On the way to the hotel I heard the first elephants, but I didn't venture into the jungle alone. Not because of the spiders or beetles... it's the monkeys. They're really cheeky! I now also know what the rabies vaccination was for 😅
On Monday we go to the national park anyway and with a lot of luck and patience you can see elephants.
