It's been almost 7 months since I stepped off the plane. I thought traveling around for 2 months would satisfy my wanderlust - but quite the opposite: it got worse, being at home got worse, being in Berlin got worse - so, after somehow making it through the 7 months - I got on a plane again..but this time not alone.

Destination: Rome!
We took off on Friday evening, landed on time, bought bus tickets to Termini Station, where we had our accommodation nearby. After some sleep, we headed towards the Colosseum in the morning. Although we had Fast Entrance tickets, the crowd was just as massive as the Colosseum itself. But once we were inside, the wait was worth it. It's an incredibly well-thought-out system and it brings forth an overwhelming sense of the battles that took place here. Still, it's an overwhelming feeling to stand in front of and inside THE Colosseum!
Afterwards, we walked to the Palatine Hill - the first of the 7 hills on which Rome was built - and to the Roman Forum. The view over Rome is gigantic! And all the ruins that are gradually being reclaimed by nature.
Afterwards, we continued walking towards the water and decided to explore the neighborhood of Trastevere. As soon as you walk over the bridge, you feel like you're in a different world. Where before there were huge buildings towering over each other and everything was somehow even bigger and more powerful, here it was filled with small narrow streets, cafes, wine cellars, and bars in Mediterranean style, overgrown with ivy and decorated in green. After having dinner and our phones showing a 16 kilometer walk for the day, we decided to take the bus back. And at the latest, when you look at the pictures, frame the memories in your mind, and write everything down.. you realize how Rome has enchanted you in just 1 day. Rome is magnificent and delicate at the same time and takes you on a very own dreamy vibe - so that you forget all your worries.
