Now I have left the finca and am exploring all sides of the island. La Palma has very different areas, green nature in the north, volcanoes in the south, partially overgrown, partially still bare. The last volcano was formed only 250 years ago and the last eruption occurred in 1971.
In the west, the weather is sunnier and warmer. Unfortunately, there are endless banana plantations, some of which grow under cover and give some areas a desolate feeling.
La Palma is considered a German expat island, with 12,000 registered Germans, this could be true. German is spoken everywhere, there are German restaurants and cafes with international cuisine everywhere. You have to search for Spanish cuisine. Whether you want to rent a car, go to the doctor, or need a handyman, you can get along well with the German language.
