Day 74: After waking up, we first go to Lidl in Patras to stock up on supplies for Zakynthos. An hour later, we are already at the port of Kyllini.
While waiting for the ferry, we stroll through the rather plain harbor town. We buy bread for dinner. Before boarding, we devour a generous portion of our delicious breakfast muesli. I wonder if that was a good idea, especially knowing how easily Birgit gets seasick.
The ferry is only about a third full in the vehicle area. Half of it is occupied by tour buses, so there are many people on board. Birgit has taken all precautions for the "worst case" (bags, chewing gum, tissues...). But in the end, everything goes well, the 80-minute crossing was very relaxed.
Today it is still heavily cloudy, and there is still a little rain from time to time. Therefore, we first visit Zakynthos town (also called Chora). After seeing the top four attractions, we decide to call it a day. It all looked nice, but you wouldn't really miss out if you didn't see it.
In the evening, we arrive at the parking lot of the "sea turtle rescue & information center" at Gerakas Beach. A quick visit to the center and the beach rounds off the day. Now we just need the sun to come out tomorrow!
