It's Friday and we're exploring Gastown with the Steam Clock. It's a small technical marvel, a clock powered by steam and emits a small steam signal every 15 minutes. It sounds like a pan flute and we briefly listened to the whistle three times. There's also a whistle per hour at the top of the hour.
We visit the Landing Building, the oldest surviving wooden building downtown with 9 floors. It was built 100 years ago and has been meticulously restored. Unfortunately, you can't see anything of the wooden structure from the inside, except for the cladding.
We continue along the waterfront, passing by the cruise ships and seaplanes, until we reach the Digital Whale. Here is the pre-race party for the half marathon on Saturday. We end the day at Sunset Beach with a picnic and lots of fun. Unfortunately, too cold for swimming. What a shame.
