On Sunday (29.01) we went to Wanaka - to Lakeview Holiday Park: yes, camping again and no, still no internet 🙄

We spent the day dutifully washing clothes, going shopping, and enjoying the good weather.

On Monday, after breakfast, we went to Puzzling world. We completed 'the great maze' (a rather complicated labyrinth) - the difficult version in 34 minutes! (The given time was 60-90 minutes).

Then we explored various illusion rooms: faces that seemingly follow you, a room tilted at 15 degrees where it looks like the water is flowing uphill, holograms, etc. All in all, a fun morning!

Afterwards, we went to Wanaka tree: the photo that everyone takes. However, with the hot weather, we had more of a desire to go swimming in the lake (which we didn't do because we wanted to do a hiking track).

So we continued our journey, passing Roys Peak (where everyone takes their super hipster Instagram photos - after a 3-hour hike and another 1.5 hours back) to Diamond Lake Track.

The path was relatively steep and therefore quite exhausting in the blistering sun.

We took the east track on the way, which led us through the bushland, over rocks, and around fallen trees.

We enjoyed the view, took some photos, ate oranges before heading back an hour later.

The next day, we continued on, it was raining and raining and raining, and all hostels in Hokitika were fully booked, so we traveled from Wanaka to Hokitika - covering 408 km and skipping most of the West Coast.
