Last Sunday we strapped our bikes onto the van and drove to Lake Pfäffikon. Shortly after Pfäffikon, we found a parking spot for Emily and tackled the 10km route around the lake 🚴♀️🚴♂️.
Soon after Pfäffikon, the ruins of the Roman fort Irgenhausen, believed to have been built around 300 AD, loom ahead. We were rewarded with a great view. Not far from here, the pile dwellers also built their settlements.
There were many walkers and cyclists on this slightly cloudy afternoon. In Seegräben, we of course stopped at the Jucker Farm. The last time we were here was at Hanspeter and Claudia's wedding 😝. This Sunday, it was bustling with excursionists and tourists. The cherry and apple trees were full of fruit 🍒🍏 and some people were happily helping themselves... After a little refreshment and the wonderful view over the lake, we tackled the last few kilometers. We were back at the van way too soon. 😏
So, we took a little detour on our way back home via Winterberg and Oberembrach, parked the van on a forest path, raised the pop-top roof, and unfolded our camping chairs. Siesta time 😜! It's wonderful to just stop somewhere and enjoy nature!
After a while, we started driving again, but something sounded different than usual. Oops, the pop-top roof is still raised 😳! Luckily, we are still on the forest path and not on the road yet 😂. The problem is quickly solved and we're back on the road. Probably happens to every camper once... 😊
Back home, we cleaned the dusty bikes and spruced up the van ✨.
