Staying at a hostel and Halloween
Sleeping at a hostel again felt really good. We stayed in two different hostels, but they somehow belonged together.
At Traveller Oasis, we got a private double room for the price of an 8-bed room due to overbooking (couldn't get any cheaper than that). We had our own TV and even a fridge in the room. Unfortunately, the night wasn't so pleasant because our room was right by the street and we could hear traffic all night. The next day, we moved to the next hostel 'Tropic Days' and immediately noticed that the two hostels looked almost the same. It was so cozy, like a little apartment that you share with others.
We slept in a 4-bed room and shared it with two nice Dutch people.
On October 31st, we finally got to sleep in ;-) Then we explored Cairns a bit more, swam in the lagoon, and thought about what we could do tonight. It's Halloween and many people are dressed up.
Our hostel even organized a small Halloween party. But we wanted to experience the city life and now we can say it wasn't that exciting. Our plan was to go somewhere nice for drinks, but in the end, we sat comfortably at the harbor, got some good food, and watched other people's costumes. Dressing up ourselves? Somehow we didn't have time to get a costume. Well, we didn't really want to go partying either, since we're going to the banana farm tomorrow.
