This morning we set off for the LAKE DISTRICT bright and early. We successfully battled the predicted weather conditions and took a beautiful hike through the local nature reserve. True to the motto "The journey is the destination", we trudged along, equipped with a hiking map and Simon K. as a backup.
First, we took the train from Lancaster to Oxenholme. Upon arrival, we boarded the next train to Windermere, where we took the excursion boat to Ambleside. Once in Ambleside, it was time to get moving. Through fields, meadows, walls, footpaths, and muddy terrain, past streams and small brooks, colorful sheep and sleepy cottages - more fun for some, less fun for others 😉
The whole group was so motivated that they even conquered the long way.
Upon reaching Brockhole, the small boat took us back across the lake to Windermere. Then we boarded the train back to Lancaster, where all the students were already awaited by their exchange partners.
Now, the afternoon program awaits everyone in the host families, which includes activities such as musical rehearsals 🎶, baking cakes 🍰, and soccer training ⚽️.
Tomorrow, we are looking forward to the Shakespeare performance! 🎭
