Ouch, ouch, ouch. If I can give you one tip: bring enough sunscreen on your vacation - it could be a rarity! That's what I learned today. Squeezing out the last drop, I stood there this morning: both tubes of sunscreen were empty and I needed new ones! Have I seen any here? Hm, maybe. Where can I get some? Hm, let me see. So I drove to Punda to go to the market and get some. The nice Spanish lady nodded emphatically at me as I tried to explain to her in English and Spanish that I needed sunscreen. She immediately had something in her hand that looked like sunscreen. Perfect, I thought, and asked again if it was really sunscreen. She nodded again and I handed her 20 NAF for this stupid tube. So far, so good. When I got to the beach, I wanted to put it on. I felt a bit uneasy when the cream was slippery on my skin, but I didn't think much of it. But when I went into the water, it was clear to me when it started foaming 😂 It was not sunscreen but probably shower gel 😂 The result: smooth, burnt red legs. So, better be 100% sure when you want to buy sunscreen abroad! That's all for my story of the day.
Now let's move on to the next 5 reasons why traveling alone is worth it. Get ready!
You don't want to go out to eat? You want to chill? Today, maybe the beach? Yes, the best thing about traveling alone is probably the absolute freedom of choice! You don't have to consider anything or anyone, and no one will be mad at you - isn't that excellent?
Be it a spontaneous adventure tour with limited capacity, a vacant seat in the minibus, or a side table in the restaurant. There will always be more room for one person than for two or a larger group. Also keep an eye out for last-minute spots!
Accommodation booked for one person? Great, then enjoy your own bed! Since most accommodations for one person have double beds instead of single beds, you can enjoy your night twice as much! Isn't that a dream?
Tinder, Instagram, Whatsapp & Co. - do whatever you want, for as long as you want, and with whoever you want. No one looks at you weird if you've been glued to your phone for 5 hours and don't want to talk. Maintain your contacts with the outside world and blog as much as you like if it brings you joy! No judging from anyone! But also enjoy some time without it - that's worth it too.
And there we are at the end already, and I can only highly recommend it to you if you're thinking about just packing your bags and traveling alone. I bet you won't regret it and you'll be able to collect super great valuable experiences! So, go for it!!! I'm excited about your travel blog! 💪
