After the great tour at Jack Daniels, it was time to satisfy our hunger. For this purpose, we chose the Barrelhouse to supply us accordingly.
It was opened in 2012 by Chuck Baker. Until that time, he did not have any experience with BBQ.
The atmosphere is very familiar and we both liked it. It is a relatively small shop compared to those in Nashville.
The orders were taken. Steffi chose... I ordered a 3 combo of ribs, pulled pork, and half a chicken, with vinegar slaw and baked beans.
The generous portions were delivered immediately. The smoking was done with the wood from the Jack Daniels whiskey barrels (which I also like to use).
Steffi was once again very satisfied with her food. On the other hand, my food was very dry. All 3 types of meat were affected, unfortunately. The BBQ sauces offered could not make up for it, especially since I didn't really like their taste. The vinegar slaw was unfortunately the low point, which I almost completely left untouched. The beans were okay.
Conclusion: We got full, ate quite cheaply, but unfortunately it didn't taste that great. Maybe the pitmaster just had a bad day today.
