Day 5 - Croatia (Sibenik)

Wotae: 31.07.2019

Wednesday, Day 5 of our journey through the Balkans. Like every morning, Kai was probably the first one to wake up. I can't testify to it because, as usual, I was the last one to see the daylight. And we're talking about 8:10 am, and I'm on vacation. ;) Luckily, the table was already set, the bread that Kai bought was 100 times better than the previous day's, and thanks to Creuzi, we had coffee for a change. That's how a day can start, although a few degrees less wouldn't hurt. Typical German, always complaining...

After both cars were loaded again, our groups went their separate ways. Felice and his gang set off to explore the island within a radius of 30 km and finally relax. We, on the other hand, set off for Šibenik, which is 370 km away. So, we had 4 hours of driving ahead of us, which is no problem for Dustin and Kai as long as there's cold beer. The route along the coast provided some beautiful views. ;) Only the 38 € toll for the 220 km on the highway was a negative aspect. Like any good travel group, each of us has our own responsibilities. I volunteer as the driver of the gang, which is extremely easy thanks to my great co-pilot and at the same time great DJ, Manuel (McCotta). Kai, due to his age and experience, is the undeniable father of the gang, and if the guy can do anything, it's cooking. Outstanding, no wait! Utopian. And then we have Dustin, well, what is his role actually? Well, let's say he looks good and occasionally takes care of the dishes, so we could have it worse. ;)

Back to today, when we arrived in Šibenik, everyone had to find a restroom first. Our bodies aren't used to drinking so much water. What stands out at first sight is that Šibenik is a really beautiful city, which doesn't seem that way from the outside, and the best part is that there aren't as many tourists here as in other cities in this country. While leisurely sightseeing through the city, we treated ourselves to a delicious burger + beer for 13 €, gladly anytime again. Afterwards, we went to St. Michaels Forttrest for the amazing view, a bit pricey at 10 €, but the view was unique. Then we each had a delicious ice cream, and we walked back to the car along the harbor. Quickly bought something for the evening, refueled, and then we headed to the campsite. The Solaris Camping Beach Resort enticed us with good reviews and its short distance. When we arrived there, we immediately got a nice spot between two motorhomes with the nice license plate FG . The world is indeed a small place, the Saxon dialect is just beautiful. We quickly prepared the food on the huge camping stove, then it's time to take a shower, we all desperately need it after this day. What does the evening hold for us? We'll see, we're ready for anything. :P In that spirit, have a great evening to all of you in cold Germany. :)
