The third night in La Peral was dramatic. In the middle of the night, we looked out the window and saw a forest/bush fire just 2 kilometers away. When a fire line keeps getting bigger and you don't know which direction it's moving, it creates a certain unease.
When I woke up Alfredo and he saw the fire, he said that there are regular fires, but he had never seen anything like this. He said it wasn't dangerous because there are rocks in between. He immediately reported the fire to the fire department. However, since the fire department was dealing with about 30 fires at the same time that night, there was no intervention in La Peral. The next day, smoke covered the entire region of Asturias. We only saw the sun again in the late afternoon.
At the same time, in Galicia, 4 people died in forest fires, while in Portugal, more than 30 people lost their lives. It's terrible: most of the fires were deliberately started.
