Singapore / London / Dusseldorf / Leverkusen - the return flight

Wotae: 29.04.2018

An authorized taxi for crossing the border takes us from Malaysia to Singapore on the day of departure. The Uber and Grab vehicles that we have been using frequently do not operate between the two countries. Memories of childhood come back as I was living in Poland and there were still 'real' borders to neighboring countries. With passport and car inspections and queues at the crossings. It's also a strange feeling for my husband Bo, as we live so openly here in Europe. We are allowed to enter Singapore and fortunately, our luggage is only sporadically searched, so we don't take too long. The taxi driver takes us directly to the airport where we check in our luggage, lock part of it (warm clothes for the return flight), and spend the day in Singapore, as our flight only takes off at 11 pm. We spend the sunny last day, among other things, in the rooftop bar at the exclusive Marina Bay Sands hotel. With a delicious cocktail, we toast to a successful trip, a great time with the five of us, and 'the good life'. And we are incredibly grateful for everything. The world is exciting and beautiful, and discovering it is our passion. And we have infected our kids with it, even though they sometimes feel a slight homesickness. Satisfied with wonderful impressions and experiences, but also with great joy for our home, we board our final flight from Singapore to London on the A380. And here too, everything goes smoothly: Baby Le sleeps through 10 hours of the flight, and the older kids are doing great as well. After a short stay in London, we disembark in Dusseldorf at 10 o'clock in the morning, with almost 'summer-like' temperatures.

In Leverkusen, we are warmly welcomed. Our neighbors prepare a great reception for us. With flowers, muffins, self-made posters, and many other goodies. With tears of emotion and joy in our eyes, we realize that we have now arrived home.
