🇱🇦 Nong Khiaw

We had eventful days in Nong Khiaw and the scenery is simply incredible.

🇱🇦 Luang Prabang

Luang Prabang is definitely worth seeing, but our first impression of Laos is sobering.

Am Samstag, 01.02. I made my way back to Luang Prabang in the morning. On the bus, I met a German girl who happened to have booked the same hostel as me. This time it was a different hostel than my last stay in Luang Prabang, I wanted to be more in the center. In the evening, we went to the night market together - the largest in Laos. Tourists walked up and down in two rows, it took about 20 minutes for one row (I'm bad at measuring distances, but it was really big ;) )

Right in front of our hostel we had the so-called "Morning Market". You could buy all kinds of vegetables and fruits here. I claim to know quite a few different types of vegetables and fruits (thanks to my mom), but here there was a lot that I had never seen in my whole life before. For the first time since my time in Asia, I missed being able to cook for myself in the hostels. In Canada, that was standard, but not in Asia. I wanted to go wild at the market and buy everything possible (even if I didn't know what it was). In the end, we bought a few things the next morning and a fresh baguette - that was our lunch. So far, I had always eaten vegetables that were already processed with spices in a dish. Now it was the first time to eat a tomato, bell pepper and cucumber raw and the taste was incredible. Not comparable to Germany, it tasted so natural and actually a bit greener, it's hard to describe ;)

In the evening, we went to a well-known bar right by the water. There we sat on carpets with cushions and blankets on the floor, drank beer and played cards, and ended the evening that way.

22. Stop Luang Prabang, Vietnam

After resting for a few days, the next day I took a Tuk Tuk to the city center of Luang Prabang, as ...
