After a restless night, as it seemed that the tent's protection was missing and someone told me a horror story.
He was boofing with his friend and during the night his friend got bitten in the nose by a rabid fox. Luckily, I have Tori with me, as she would have alerted me beforehand. However, I woke up several times and then went out at 8 AM, thirsty and hungry.
After about 1 hour, I passed by Nikolsdorf Biwak. Here, the Sachsenforst has an information station (building) and there was someone there who gave me fresh water.
So, I took care of Tori first and drank about 1.5 liters of water.
From the spot, I could also see the campground in Leupoldisheim. And as a camper, you know that there is usually a small shop there. So, I got 3 buns with 4 slices of cheese on each. To finish it off, I washed it down with a delicious cold beer.
After 3 more hours, I reached my destination for today, the Quirl Biwak, and set up my tent there. Unlike the other biwaks, there is no collected rainwater here.
So, I went back down the mountain to the stream and filtered 1.5 liters of river water. That should be enough for my soup and for drinking.
It's a pity that my journey ends here. I could continue hiking through the wilderness for days. But every vacation comes to an end.
Tomorrow I will go to the campground in Königstein, where I have already informed my son, and on Saturday we will drive home.
Lesson of the day:
Next time, take more time off for the tour.
