Twin Peaks and Hotel Chill

Heyyoo,

after Mareike and I slept until half past 11 today, we went for breakfast. However, there was no breakfast, so we decided to ask.

Due to the coronavirus, the hotel no longer offers breakfast, which was not mentioned to us, but we still have to pay for it. 🙄 So we went to a small supermarket on the other side of the street and got some cereal and milk. 🥛We are still allowed to use the hotel's cutlery.

So we had breakfast in our room and stayed there all morning. Because California has become a high-risk area due to the virus, everything is closed here and we hardly have any opportunities to do anything.🥺

In the afternoon, we decided to leave the hotel anyway and go to the Twin Peaks. We ordered an Uber that took us up there. From there, we had an incredibly beautiful view of San Francisco and could even see the Golden Gate Bridge 😊. However, it was so cold that we couldn't stand it for long. After three months of almost only sunshine and temperatures of at least 25 degrees Celsius, 12 degrees were not pleasant. 😅 Also, our backpacks are 99% filled with summer clothes, except for a sweatshirt jacket, we don't have anything warm. 🤦🏼‍♀️

After our trip, the same Uber driver took us back to the hotel because he was waiting for us at the Twin Peaks. 😊 Since we didn't have to book the Uber driver again through the app for the return trip, we agreed on a cash payment (normally it is debited from the account). At the hotel, I wanted to quickly get cash, but none of my two credit cards worked. So I tried another ATM, but it didn't work there either. Then Mareike tried her card, but it didn't work either, and we started to get stressed. 🙄 When we asked the hotel for another bank, we were told that we have to go to a specific bank because we have international credit cards and not every ATM accepts them, but we didn't know that and so far it has only been like this in America.

So our Uber driver took us to the international bank and there we were able to withdraw cash without any problems. We gave our Uber driver a very generous tip because of the circumstances and the extra trip he had to make for us, but he refused and only took the main amount. 🙈

Back at the hotel, we took a shower, lay in bed, and did nothing except watching TV and playing on our phones.

In the evening, Mareike and I went to a pizzeria on the other side of the street and ordered a family pizza, which of course we couldn't finish. 😅

Now we are lying here in bed with our half-eaten family pizza and watching Hangover.
