Wow, even 2 new blog entries :)
David was so kind and took 3 days to show me his city and its surroundings. Soooo kind.
He has his own company here and can manage his time. Keschi and I met him 2 years ago in Vietnam. He is so funny :)
One day we drove down (about 1.5 hours) to the Mornington Peninsula. To the towns of Sorrento and Seaport. Both super beautiful beach towns. In Seaport, there is the Artist Trail. That's still an insider:) Amazing view from up there. The water is so turquoise. In the evening, we went to the Queen Victoria Night Market in Melbourne. Pretty crowded, but great. With live music and food trucks. It's only open on Wednesdays in summer. Otherwise, the market is open during the day for 4 days a week and it's also worth going shopping..
Unfortunately, I can't upload videos to the blog. When I'm back, I will upload some on YouTube and share the links here.
The next day, we drove along the beautiful Great Ocean Road. We stopped at several small beach towns and of course, we drove all the way to the 12 Apostles. We were in Torquay, at the famous Bells Beach, where the annual Rip Curl Pro surfing world championships are held over Easter and where the brands Rip Curl and Quicksilver are based. The viewpoint at Cape Patton is definitely worth it. Both Lorne and Apollo Bay are good places to eat with small shops. We stayed overnight in Cape Otway in the forest at Bimbi Park. You can also see many koalas there. We saw 8 of them and 3 kangaroos :) Actually, it takes about 3 hours from Melbourne to the Apostles, but with all the stops and if you want to enjoy it, you need about 8 hours :) I have to say that the Great Ocean Road is even more beautiful than Highway 1 in California. Simply because the water here looks so clear and turquoise! It was a dreamy road trip and I am so happy and grateful that David showed me all of this and especially because he knew everything and then you get so much additional information.
I'm definitely very good here and I'm just happy and glad that I went traveling. It feels like much longer than 2 weeks ago...
I'll be back from Airlie Beach. Then I finally see the Whitehaven Beach. I think it's the most beautiful beach in the world!:)
