Palm Springs

Udgivet: 12.12.2017

Were driving according to the navigation system, and suddenly the lady says to turn right. But there was a campground. This can't be right! There was never any mention of a campground. But the address matched the Airbnb message. So we drove through the area. There were mobile homes everywhere, and the average age of the residents was definitely between 50 and 70. Oh my God, where have we landed?

That's what you get when you go for cheap.

Well, this is where we'll be staying for the next six days.

Can I briefly show you around our little house? It resembled a place for older folks, just like you'd imagine it. Including the smell.

Carina slept on the sofa bed.

That was my room.

Finally, the bathroom. Do you understand what I mean now? *Haha*

The week’s summary is rather short, as the leisure activities here were quite sparse. To make matters worse, we had the worst internet reception of our entire trip here. There wasn't much watching series and movies in the evenings.

The campground was equipped with several pools and a fitness studio. Tennis and golf were also available.

During that time, I did a lot of sports and read a lot. It was a bit like a self-discovery trip. Almost cut off from the outside world. You can really focus on yourself. We also did some shopping and came up with new things we could cook. One day, on the recommendation of a supermarket employee, we went to a national park.

They apparently hold the World Championships for climbing here. I assume we entered through the wrong entrance, because there was nothing in sight that resembled a climbing wall. The entrance fee was also extremely expensive, so we turned around.

The animals didn't want to show themselves either.

For once, the Skype day was moved to Saturday, as Sunday was our departure day. But it didn't work out very well, given the fantastic internet connection. But somehow it worked. I hope this doesn't happen again.

Just before departure, we did the laundry, as you should. We just had to improvise a bit, since there was no clothes rack.

Then, on Sunday, finally, it was time to go. Just before we got on the highway, we stopped at the supermarket for drinks and medicine.

On the way there, we finally saw some cowboys, who seemed to find it very funny that they had to pose as models for photos.

They even waved and smiled, aren't they friendly? :-)

Soooooo, we were ready to go to San Francisco. An 8-hour drive awaited us, oh boy! But we can do it... 'Grins'

More on that tomorrow. Sleep well, my loves.
