Bar-B-Que Wagon, Bryson City, NC

Finally it was time for BBQ again. We headed to the only BBQ joint in Bryson City, right on the Tuckasegee River. It was very pleasant that we could finally sit outside here, which unfortunately was not possible in many BBQ restaurants before.

Steffi ordered fried onion rings, while I once again opted for pork, cole slaw, beans, and hushpuppies.

The sides were consistently good, although the slaw was a bit bland for my taste. The meat was well smoked and not too dry. It was noticeable that less vinegar was used here, both in the sauces and in the meat, than was usual in North Carolina before. Steffi enjoyed the onion rings.

All in all, yet again, a BBQ restaurant that is definitely worth visiting if you are in the area. The location by the river is a big plus point!
